Abstract

Summary :
The commercial markets in Libya played a prominent role in stimulating the commercial movement, through their traditional markets, whether weekly ones with open public squares, in which the trade of commodities of various types, agricultural, animal and industrial, or permanent traditional markets, which mostly include a group of Commercial shops specialized in selling specific commercial goods, as well as through modern commercial shops in their construction, and with imported goods of a modern nature.
The commercial sector in the Libyan market was characterized by the control of a limited category of merchants over most of the main commercial activities, which were mostly managed by the commercial agents on the side, or by some Libyan merchants associated with the owners of commercial agencies, despite the government's efforts to try to reduce the depletion of merchants And the commercial agents on the side, which were not sufficient to lubricate the Libyan commercial sector, which left most Libyan merchants only to manage small retail stores that were among the most widespread commercial establishments in the Libyan markets.
