Abstract

Al-Biruni explains history (362 AH / 973 AD - 443 AH / 1051 AD)

The study deals with the problem of historical interpretation according to Al-Biruni (362AH/973AD-443AH/1051AD) and its distinction in this field. Interpretation, reasoning and interpretation according to Al-Biruni was influenced by the features of his time in the field of historical interpretation. Especially that rational tendency that appeared clearly in all his treatments weighing the historical news after its investigation, and standing on its causes in accuracy, objectivity and impartiality The research purifies Al-Biruni’s expanding vision to include the entire universe. The commoner - in his view - is “obsessed with the sensible, alienating from the intelligible”, and you see a kind of unification in all aspects of knowledge. Therefore, the human dimension appears clear in the development of his historical thought. Therefore, Al-Biruni can be considered a missionary and an applicator at the same time of the civilized vision of history, which was evident in the book “Achieving what India is saying,” as it is a civilized history of India, comparing its civilization with the civilizations of other nations. In it, Al-Biruni presented a vision that looks at the different nations and peoples with a unified view, based on a common human presence in values and civilization, as he said, “All nations are equal in this sense.” key words:
