Abstract

Abstract : Certainly, Andalusian biographies are of a great scientific significance because they include historic, intellectual, literary, political, and social valuable references that help in studying the situations of this region from different perspectives, in addition to some rare information about many Andalusian scholars who provided this land with a flood of scientific references that are not found in other historical books, and thus saved the histories of distinguished ones.
Jadhwat al-Muqtabis fī Tārīkh al-Andalus, which the researcher intends to study the resources of its author, is considered as one of the commonly famous biographies in Andalusia. It is well-known in the East and the West, as the author dealt with biographies of hadīth and fiqh scholars, scientists and literary authors in Andalusia, as well as the lives of persons who were in charge of wilāyah, judiciary, police, and other administrative positions. The book also contains some information that is not found in any other Andalusian books.
