The Impact of Biased Coverage of Television For the 2020 parliamentary Elections on Forming Patterns of Political Communication ( A Field Study on A Sample of Youth of Egyptian Political Parties)

Abstract

This current study drives at exploring the impact of the biased coverage of both (government and private) television channels for the previous parliamentary elections of 2020 on the patterns of political communication, which are represented in the (cognitive, emotional, and behavioral) dimensions of youth in Egyptian political parties. this can be achieved through the researcher's application of a questionnaire following the end of the previous parliamentary elections in 2020, on a purposed sample consisting of (270) items, selected from various political parties; taking into consideration, the difference in thier political ideologies that fluctuate between ( secular, Islamic, liberal, leftist, democratic socialist) parties represented by the following parties: ( Mustqbl Watan 'the future of nation' party - Al-Nour- Al Wafd party- The Republican people's party- Al- Tagmmu party- The Egyptian Democratic party).
The study comes to the following results:
1. There is significant correlation between the degree of confidence of Egyptian political parties' Youth in the (governmental / private) television channels' coverage and their political communication patterns, the ( cognitive, emotional, and behavior).
2. There is significant correlation between the hostile view of youth of the Egyptian political parties towards TV channels (governmental / private) during their coverage of the 2020 parliamentary elections and their patterns of political communication, the ( cognitive, emotional, and behavioral).
3. The variable of party affiliation affects the assessment of coverage characteristics of ( government / private) Tv channels during the previous 2020 parliamentary elections.
