Abstract

Abstract: The current study aimed to reveal the correlation between psychological immunity and selective mutism among students of the basic education stage, and the difference in the degree of psychological immunity between basic education students with selective mutism and normal ones. The current study used the descriptive approach, and the study consisted of (82) students, and it was divided into (42) students with selective mutism, and (42) ordinary students, whose ages range between (10-15) years, from basic education students in the Obour Educational Administration, Qalyubia Governorate. The study used two measures of psychological immunity. Prepared by (Olah, at al, 2012), and the measure of selective mutism prepared by (the researcher), and the results showed an inverse relationship between psychological immunity and selective mutism among students of the basic education stage, and the results also showed that there were differences in the averages of psychological immunity among students of the basic education stage with selective mutism and Ordinary.
