Rhetorical repetition when poets of a rock the Multaqa

Abstract

This research is concerned with studying the phenomenon of rhetorical repetition in the poems of the Poets of the Rock of the Multaqa ; Ibrahim Naji, Ali Mahmoud Taha, Muhammad Abd al-Muti al-Hamshari and Saleh Jawdat; They are considered one of the most important poets of the sad and realistic romantic trends in modern Arabic poetry.

by looking at the poems of our poets; We find that they have excelled in employing the phenomenon of repetition; With the rhetorical power it possesses to express what is going on in their souls of pleasant feelings, and what goes on in their minds of meanings and ideas; A desire to capture the conscience of the recipient, and deepen his sense of their poetic experiences.

Hence, the poets’ employment of repetition in their poems carried suggestive, emotional, and psychological connotations, in addition to its emphatic and rhythmic connotations. The Miscellaneous Signs generated by repetition; It reflected to the recipient the sad psychological state that our poets go through, and embodied their suffering from the painful reality in which they live. It also enabled our poets to describe their psychological defects, and to express their emotional and subjective experiences; Those experiences that failed, and left their souls with a feeling of sadness and heartbreak, distress and dissatisfaction with life, and other harsh feelings that dominated their conscience, and became disturbing them in their lives.
