Abstract

The current research aims to reveal the impact of peer assessment within and between groups in cloud computing applications based collaborative e-learning environment for developing instructional technology students' programming skills and satisfaction. To achieve the objective of the research, the researcher determined the design criteria for cloud computing applications based collaborative e-learning environment, defined the cognitive and performance objectives of HTML programming skills, and prepared a measure of students’ satisfaction with the peer assessment pattern and the educational environment. The researcher applied the model of Muhammad Khamis (2007). In addition, the researcher applied the experimental treatment to the fourth-year students in the Faculty of Education, Al-Azhar University, Department of Libraries, Information and Education Technology. The results of the research showed the effectiveness of the peer assessment pattern between groups (Many to Many) in the cloud computing applications based collaborative e-learning environment in developing HTML programming skills, and the results showed that there is a rise in the satisfaction of the students about the assessment pattern, the cloud computing applications based collaborative e-learning environment, and the educational content. Therefore, the current research recommended making use of the list of educational design criteria for the collaborative e-learning environment according to peer assessment between groups, using the collaborative e-learning environment in designing the curriculum, relying on peer assessment as educational activities, training the would-be teachers and the educational technology specialists on the peer assessment and its patterns, to enrich and achieve the learning objectives.
