The State’s Efforts To Promote The Industry Of Furniture In Damietta Governorate

Abstract

ABSTRACT
This research aims to identify the state's efforts to promote the industry of furniture; so that, Damietta will be the main center for the furniture industry in Egypt. The field study is conducted on (3) villages affiliated to the Damietta Center, namely, (Al-Sinania, Al-Shuara, and Al-Anania), in addition to some furniture factories in the industrial zone of the city in “New Damietta”. The research relies on the anthropological method and its tools, which are represented in (observation – the fieldwork guide – photography -in-depth interview), where the researcher has conducted interviews with some of the officials “Head of the Technology Center for Furniture, Vice President of the Industrial Modernization Center, Head of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, President of Damietta City for Furniture and some officials and deputies of cooperative societies”. The study has also used the case study approach and the local community study approach. The researcher relies on many data sources, the most important of which are (news, official documents, records, and official websites of official authorities and institutions).This research deals with two axes:
First: The most important problems meeting the industry of furniture in Damietta Governorate.
Second: The efforts and endeavors of the state to advance the furniture industry by focusing on “Damietta city for furniture in Shata” as one of the most important and recent achievements taken by the state.
