The Relationship between Jop Satisfaction and Professional Performance among Educational Supervisors in Jazan Region

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the status-quo of job satisfaction and professional performance among female educational supervisors at the Department of Education and to reveal the differences between the estimates of the status-quo of job satisfaction and professional performance regarding the variables of (educational qualification, years of experience). The study also aimed at exploring the existence of a correlation between Job satisfaction and professional performance. The study made use of the descriptive approach and a questionnaire was developed to collect data from the study random sample (totaling 119). The study concluded that the status-quo of job satisfaction among the educational supervisors was at an average degree in total score of the questionnaire and the sub-dimensions. The results showed that there were no differences attributed to the variables of educational qualification nor years of experience. There were also no statistically significant differences that might be attributed to the variable of years of experience. There were statistically significant differences in terms of the mean responses of the sample members regarding the status-quo of professional performance which might be attributed to the educational qualification variable in favor of the sample members who obtained a bachelor’s degree. Finally, there was a positive correlation between the total score of job satisfaction and professional performance. The study recommended the necessity of paying the due attention to holding training courses and workshops among educational supervisors, as well as empowering the educational supervisors with the necessary power to perform their tasks
