The physical potential for urban development in the Golden Triangle area in the eastern desert of Egypt

Abstract

The study dealt with the natural potentials that influence and control the urban development process in the Golden Triangle area, the most important of which was the geological formations. And what resulted in the establishment of urban centers associated with working in these mines, in addition to the terrain features that show the control of the mountains in choosing the location of urban communities and the narrow coastal plain in the region, in addition to Wadi Qena from the west, which helps to extend the urbanization as a desert back to the city of Qena, and the climatic factors that The temperate climate was shown on the edges of the triangle, either in the middle The temperature rises, torrents fall, and the soil varies, which helps in urban and agricultural stability in the Golden Triangle area, and the water sources that are the basis of life and stability in the region, and the study eventually reached to identifying the optimal places for urban stability according to the potential of the natural region.
