Abstract

Egypt's need for Weapons was necessary, especially after the revolution of July 23, 1952, so Egypt resorted to traditional sources to obtain Weapons, namely the United States and Western countries, and with the method of procrastination and setting impossible conditions. Egypt resorted to a new and unexpected source, which is the Soviet Union. Indeed, the first negotiations of the Weapons deal between Egypt and the Soviet Union began on April 12, 1955, and the Soviet Union actually decided to supply Weapons to Egypt through Czechoslovakia. On September 12, 1955, the deal was signed with the Czechoslovaks in the capital, Prague, and on September 27, Nasser officially announced the deal; The Czech Weapons deal made a big noise to Western countries. For the first time in the history of the modern Middle East, the West's monopoly on Weapons was broken and resorting to other sources of armament. It was a shock to the United States and Western countries. Egypt did not back down from what it had done and began a new phase of its foreign policy. It is heading towards the eastern camp, and on the other hand, relations between Egypt and Western countries deteriorated.
