Abstract

The present study examines the difference of wisdom among university students according to the difference in the demographic variables (gender, grade, specialization), and determines the ability to predict the wisdom of their negotiation skills. The study relies on the comparative correlation descriptive approach. The sample of the study consists of 352 male and female university students at the Faculty of Women for Arts, Science, and Education as well as at other faculties of Ain Shams University (Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Computer and Information Science). The male and female students range between 18 and 25 years old and study in scientific and literary specializations. The following tools have been applied: the wisdom scale and the negotiation skills scale among university students; both are prepared by the researchers. The results have revealed the following: there is a statistically positive correlation between the students’ scores on the wisdom scale and their scores on the negotiation skills scale; in addition, wisdom does not differ according to the gender (males – females). Furthermore, wisdom does not differ neither according to the grade (the second - the fourth), nor according to the specialization (scientific - literary), and it has the ability to predict the negotiation skills among university students. The study recommends developing wisdom and encourages the training on negotiation skills among university students.
