Abstract

The title of the research is “conservation of Medicinal Wild plants in South Sinai project.” (Geographical Study)
Threats facing medicinal and aromatic plants in South Sinai. the possibility of their cultivation, and to determine the role of the population in their development and protection. And studying ways to conserve rare and endangered ones, and the research aims to try to foresee a future vision for plants.
The research relied on the descriptive method, the analytical method, and the principal method.
Results summarize in continuous threatening for medicinal plants extinction in South Sinai, as a side effect of water shortage, and economic factors represented in the Bedouins’ dealing with them in ways that threaten them, and that the project to preserve wild medicinal plants in South Sinai is an important experience on several levels, foremost among which comes Preserving plants in the region through continuous direct follow-up. The data recorded by the project, and a starting point for new researches on the other hand
The researcher first recommends the necessity of reviving the plant conservation project, and supporting the saint Catherine association so that it is able to practice its activities, which the project has proven it's positivity, in addition to reconsidering the synergy and integration of efforts between governmental and academic institutions and ministries, and NGOs, given the successful experiences in this field, especially These projects have achieved a very important database that can be relied upon to achieve a better future for medicinal and aromatic plants in South Sinai.
