Abstract

Abstract
This research deals with the stages of urban growth of Qusier city, and the most important the environmental controls controlling of its growth, which divided into physical controls such as the geological formations where explained types of rocks and minerals that were relied upon for economic activity in the twentieth century. In addition to the terrain studying which clarified the narrow coastal plain and the extension of the city to the north.
In addition the human controls controlling of the city urban growth like immigration. The population growth increased dramatically during the discovery of phosphate and the influx of workers from neighboring governorates, especially Qena Governorate, and this is evidenced by the high percentage of males over females in that period, in addition to the study of land use that showed the high percentage of space within the urban area in the city, which reflects Providing the opportunity for further growth and development in the future.
