Social values as reflected in governmental and non_ governmental cultural centers activities in Cairo city

Abstract

The researcher seeks in this dissertation to introduce a comparative review of folkloric performances in both governmental and nongovernmental cultural centers in an attempt to monitor and classify the activities of various performances in these centers in the time of the fieldwork, besides performing content analyses to the texts presented and debriefing the social and cultural values in the presentations and their reflection on the participating audience. The choice in this research has presented two models from the researcher's dissertation; the first model is the governmental which is the performances of Al-Arahoz Wamda Group and Shadow; the second model is the non-governmental that presents the performance of Mazahir for Zar Group. The theoretical framework of the study depends on applying Cultural Capitalism, Symbolic Interactionism, Functionism,Oral Forms, Hermeneutics School, and Heritage Reproduction in analyzing the data of the research. The research depends also on a number of qualitatitive methods most important of which are Anthropological Method with its tools, Folkloric Method with its different dimensions, besides Case Study Method,Comparative Method and Discourse Analysis Method. This research is part of the Doctoral Dissertation entitled "Social Values as Reflected in the Activities of the Governmental and Nongovernmental Cultural Centers in Cairo: An Analytical Fieldwork Study to Some Folkloric Perfomances" that carries the same title of the research. The research is divided into axes:The Problematic of the Research;Theoretical Framework;, Methodological Framework;, Fieldwork Study.
