Counseling program - positive thinking skills - future anxiety - parents of autistic children.

Abstract

The current study aims to develop some positive thinking skills to reduce future anxiety experienced by parents of autistic children through a counseling program designed for this purpose and to achieve the goals of the study, the researcher used the following tools: Positive Thinking Skills Scale, Future Anxiety Scale.
The sample of the study consisted of (20) fathers and mothers of autistic children registered in the Autism unit at Shatra General Hospital, Dhi Qar Governorate, who obtained high scores on the scale of future anxiety and lowest scores on the scale of positive thinking skills. And a control group that includes (10) mothers and fathers, ranging in age from 25-45 years.and the study reached the following results,There is a statistically significant difference between the mean grades of the experimental group parents' scores in the overall score of the Positive Thinking Scale and its components in the pre and post measurements "after applying the training program in the direction of the larger dimensional measurement in the averages,There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group parents' scores in the total score of the future anxiety scale and its components in the post and tracer measures "in favor of the tracer measurement
