Abstract

Abstract:
This study aims to his study aimed to identify how the reality of the Egyptian family presented by drama, and to show the way that drama use to express the differences between social classes in social, economic features and characteristics, the study also aims to stand up to the similarities and differences between the content of drama and the actual reality of families in Egyptian society. The study was based on content analysis method, using a content analysis form applied to a sample consisting of (18) series from (2011 to 2019). These series were chosen based on a survey study that was applied to a random sample of (180) drama viewers.
The study reached the following results:
1. There was a clear difference in TV series for the social classes, as there appeared a state of distinction in favor of the wealthy classes, who are the holders of power and prestigious positions, experiences and a high educational level.
2. There were Discrimination in the negative and positive values of each class; The drama series showed poor families as being characterized by greed and seeking to satisfy their material needs by any means possible.
3. Many unpleasant characteristics appeared as a feature of the Egyptian family in all series of different social classes, as we witnessed a large proportion of cases of family disintegration, marital infidelity, illegal relationships between children, and unjustified breakups in a large number of scenes.
