Abstract

Despite the importance of previous studies on Min or the dictionary of titles, none of them came up with a list of priestesses of the deity Min in the era of the Old Kingdom nor their titles, hence the importance of this research.
The service of priestesses for a male deity was unusual in the Old Kingdom, while the researcher sensed their clear role in Min worship. Whereas in the mortuary temple of King Pepy II at Saqqara, images of different deities are shown, followed by a mixture of male and female priests together, in contrast to 'Min' - the only one among them - which is followed by only female priests.
The Min female priesthood will be traced, taking into account its re-arrangement chronologically from the earliest to the latest, to highlight the historical development that occurs in the female priesthood in the Old Kingdom era, in terms of the various priesthood classes that they occupied or trained throughout history in their occupation.
The research is divided into: the deity, then the titles of Min priestesses, and finally a list of the priestesses' names of the god Min, arranged chronologically.
