Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the variation in symptoms of addiction and depression among study sample according to the pre- and post-scales And to reveal the difference in symptoms of addiction and depression in study sample according to the two post- scales to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the experimental method on a sample of (24) cannabis and alcohol addicts. The study reached a set of results, the most notable of which is the variation in symptoms of addiction and depression among study sample. The pre and post scales, The results also showed that addiction and depression do not differ according to the post and follow-up scales and this confirms the effectiveness of the program in reducing of the symptoms of addiction and depression among cannabis and alcohol addicts. One of the most important recommendations of the study is to draw the attention of researchers and specialists at field of addiction to take into account depression in addicts and its management. As it is one of the globally classified reasons behind addiction and the addict's relapse after treatment and interest is given to spreading of mental and physical health awareness of the effectiveness of practicing self- suggestive therapy in improving of the level of depression which in turn contributes in reducing of the symptoms of addiction and it improves the physical and psychological health.
